Thursday, May 26th, was Hayden's 5th Grade Recognition program. Not a graduation mind you. A 'Recognition'.
As it turned out, Michael's step mother, Joyce was also in town. So Master Hayden had two grandmothers and one grandfather attend this event. Lots of support for our young man.
Here are a few pictures of this delightful evening.
First, Hayden is in the center marching in with his class. There were four 5th Grade Classes this year.
Once he spied his cheering squad he gave us a grin and a wave.
Hayden's teacher, Ms. Ruhl, is at the podium reading the names of each student. Hayden is to the left of that and his Principal is handing him his certificate and shaking his hand.
This is Hayden grinning and showing us his certificate. He looks a mite happy in this picture. Maybe mixed with that feeling of success.
Then there is the necessary gloating with his younger sister. Claude is in the background watching this interaction with our youngest grandmonsters.
The Art Teacher came up with a great 5th Grade Class art project. Each 5th Grade student made a clay object of their choosing being sure to leave a hole in the middle. Then, since totem poles are used to tell history and relationships, the clay objects were put on a dowel that was mounted in a box making 5 totem poles. This was just very colorful and looked like it was lots of fun for the kids. Hayden is pointing to his creation. It is a white goose with a bright orange bill.
Here is our 5th Grade
And this is the happy family of the 5th Grade Recognized person.
And this is the Grandparents (Ma and Pa) with the 5th Grade Recognized person.
When Hayden got home, there was a present for him from his parents on the table. It was a brand new t-shirt with his new Middle School logo on the front. This young man is now officially ready to take on Middle School. Go get 'em Hayden!!
