Tuesday, October 15th, we had a full day in Manti with Kris and Cordell.
They picked us up at 9:30am and took us to Das Cafe in Spring City, Utah for breakfast. This is a German restaurant. Delicious meal.
Das Cafe is a fascinating little town. All the buildings at historic. Lots of different types of arts and crafts made here. After breakfast, Kris drove us thru the streets of Spring City to see some of the neat homes.
We also drove to The Palisades, a nice state park is there but the water in the lake was almost gone. Cordell is over the water and this lake is what they drain from for farmers. The process is for a great snowfall this winter. Spring thaws will bring the run off that will fill the lake again.
We also went to Kris' brothers sheep ranch. He was not there. But it was good to visually put together more of Kris' life.
We headed back to Manti. We were dropped off at the Manti Cottage for a while. This gave Claude a chance for a quick nap.
Cordell and Kris picked us up in his truck towing their side-by-side. We were headed up the mountain for the afternoon. Kris' family has property up there and her brother has a cabin we would visit.
The road up the mountain is named Willow Creek Road. Kris' family calls their land Willow Creek. Cordell parked the truck and we road in the side-by-side all over the mountain. We stopped at John's (Kris' brother) cabin and toured it and ate snacks on the deck. This was an exceptionally fun afternoon.
