Camp Christensen - Day 6 (Saturday, July 11th) - Part 1

This morning was 'big breakfast' morning. That simply means 'Pa' fixes pancakes, bacon and eggs. It is always delicious and always welcome. After breakfast we took our time getting ready for Saturday's outing. The outing was to be a bowling round in Georgetown. These are pictures of Bailey practicing her dressing skills and Paul playing blocks with Bailey.
When all was in order, we headed to the Gallactic Bowling Center in Georgetown for a round of bowling. This in the only bowling alley in Georgetown. We got there about 10am and there was no one else but us bowling. We were very grateful that no one watched this scene of carnage between bowling ball, man/woman, and lanes. They have bumper rails on all the lanes so we got 2 lanes and set one up with bumper lanes for the 4 kids. Andie, Claude and I took the lane next to it and did not use bumper rails (this we came to regret!!). At one point Bailey was ahead. Now, when you understand that most of the time Aubrey was standing with her and shoving the ball with her you have to wonder why Aubrey wasn't ahead on her own. Claude had a strike and I had a spare and both followed them up with gutter balls. It was NOT pretty folks. Love Hayden's heart, he really wanted all the balls to stay in the right order and make sure everyone had the ball they were supposed to have. He is quite diligent at watching the ball return. I made the mistake of saying 'the one with the highest score buys lunch'. You guessed it, I ended up with the highest score. Lesson learned, keep one's mouth closed. Bailey had 2 left feet. Literally. They gave her a pair of shoes and we didn't notice until the end that they had given her 2 left shoes. It really was a lot of fun and we totally enjoyed have the lanes to ourselves. Here are a few pictures:
After bowling we went a block over and paid a quick visit to Mimi. It was just before her lunch time. Papa got caught in traffic and met us in the door as we were leaving to take the kids to lunch.
Lunch was at Cici's Pizza. This has become a tradition with our family. After everyone eats as much as they want, Pa doles out the quarters he has saved for the kids to play games in the little game room.
The we headed back to Sadieville for 'quiet time'.
