Little Miss Performs...

Tuesday, February 24th, Miss Bailey performed with her second grade class.  Although Claude and I are still trying to recuperate.  This was one of those moments in time when we just needed to try and be there.

One of their musical numbers was a tribute to those who have served and are serving in the military.  The children who have a loved one who is or has served were invited to bring the jacket of their loved one to wear in that number.  Claude was in the Air Force.  I told Andie we had his dress blues uniform and a fatigue jacket.  Bailey really wanted to wear her Grampa's jacket.

Tuesday we woke up still feeling crummy.  What else is new?  Claude had a dentist appointment in Georgetown in the morning.  He left me at Papa's.  I hacked away at the ice in his driveway a bit.  Then we came home and took a nap. We left in the afternoon for LaGrange with dress blues in hand.

Bailey did a great job singing with her class.  She is so full of personality.  Bailey is in the center of each picture singing her little heart out.
The final number would be the tribute to the military.  The children went from their place on the risers to chairs lining the front with their jacket of their loved one on a chair.  This is Michael videoing his daughter and Claude looking a bit happy.
After the performance, I asked Bailey to let me get a picture of her in the coat.  She paused with her friend Ella and with Claude.  She told Claude they needed to be saluting in the picture.  So into the moment.
What a neat moment for Claude with his little Bailey.  We just looked at each other and said, "Whoever thought that uniform would ever be used again?"  What a nice use after all these years.
