We had most of Thursday to ourselves. The coach would pick us up at 5pm to take us to the airport in Nadi. We had a leisurely morning and then went to check out. This had to be done by noon. After checking out, we went to the Lagoon Cafe for some lunch. Others from our group eventually joined us and we enjoyed several hours to sit and visit. A little bird also shared lunchtime with us. I took some final pictures of the Marriott.
I sent this message to our kids. Fiji is a paradox to me. It is beautiful. This resort is amazing. The resort is about one hour from Nadi where the airport is. For all the beauty, there is abject poverty. Little homes with metal roofs that you are sure will blow away is a hurricane comes past. The difference is stark between our resort and other places. Yet, the people are happy. They genuinely care that you are happy too. They love their culture and remember their heritage.
Our flight left Fiji Thursday at 9:40pm. We arrived in Los Angeles Thursday at 12:50pm. We arrived in Los Angeles before we left Fiji!!! We flew for 10 hours and 10 minutes. We crossed the International Dateline. It is just a weird thing. It would really mess with our body's clock when trying to get back to Kentucky Time.
We left Los Angeles at 9:54pm and arrived at the Cincinnati Airport at 5am Friday! By 7am Friday we were in Georgetown and went straight to bed. We got up about 12:30pm Friday. I sent this message to our kids.

When we went to the Fijian Culture Village, I has a Pineapple Fanta with my dinner. It was soooo go, I sent Claude back for a second one. I have never seen that Fanta flavor in the states. Today I found it at Kroger!! Yeah!! You must all come try some!
We will now watch LOTR to see if we recognize places we visited.
Love you all!
This was an amazing trip. We saw so much and learned so much. So very grateful we were able to take this journey.
