Thursday, February 8th, our Bailey turned 17 years old. This was my Facebook post on our family Facebook page:
Here is a picture lesson of what 17 years can do! Happy Birthday to our youngest Grandmonster! Bailey Marx we love ya bunches and hope you have a great day and a year full of fun adventures to come. Happy Birthday!!
In the evening, we held our Self-Care Relief Society Activity in the evening. This is what I posted on the Elkhorn Creek Ward Facebook page with the pictures.
We enjoyed a tremendous Relief Society Activity last night. Such great information in bite-sized pieces! The activity was about Self-Care. Jenna Thacker spoke to us about hair care. Beatrice Lopez-Obergon taught us how to do a hand massage. Anna Graham spoke to us about nutrition. Heidi Barney spoke to us about mental health. We all asked questions, shared ideas, received answers to those questions and enjoyed a little snack at the end.
Thank you to each of these presenters for their efforts in sharing with us a bit of their knowledge. Your efforts were a benefit and blessing to each of us.
Sisters, we are truly enjoying these activities. We would love for you to join us. It is so good to have this interaction with other sisters. We hope these pictures help all sisters to feel included with the Relief Society activities.

Hands of Beatrize and Laynie. All of us practicing hand massage. Beatrize went around and massaged each of our hands. Such a tender experience.
Anna Graham shared with us the four foods she avoids in the grocery store. Anna, I need your help remembering each of these! She walks and shops the outside edges of the grocery store. Less preservatives. She also shared the Clean 15 that contain the least pesticides (Google it!) and the Dirty Dozen which contain high levels of residual pesticides (Google it!). Excellent information.
Heidi Barney spoke to us about our mental health. Again, it was excellent. The next three pictures are the forms she handed out.
Great diagram of the 8 Realms of Wellness.
This form allows you to assess your personal place in the mental health world. We used 1 as the least and 10 as the best. We each filled in the second column. Then made comments in the last column about our feelings and action items to help with that area.
The last form allows us to look at emotions and our reactions to them. Great tool to access how we reactive and how we will not react.
I brought the lotion and oil for the hand massage. The bottles came home with me. I will now practice on Claude!! Good evening with these sweet Ladies.
