Christmas - Post 2 of Several

Gramma Bonnie, Claude's mom, came to spend Christmas with us. She arrived December 18th so we had about a week of 'adult swim'. Friday the 19th we let her rest. Saturday the 20th we took her to the choir practice at Church for Sunday's Christmas program. We all left very concerned but feeling a little better. Our chorister picked some really difficult music and we were struggling just a bit. After the choir practice we headed to Sadieville for the arrival of Santa in Sadieville. He comes each year by fire truck and usually greets the kids by sitting in the old train depot which is now our city hall. This year my ever so clever hubby is having the caboose refurbished that sits in downtown Sadieville. So Santa arrived by fire truck and then greeted each child in the caboose. I have already posted pictures of this with Bonnie on Santa's lap. While waiting for Santa to come, we sat in the little Baptist Church next to the depot. I played the piano for kicks and opened their hymnbook to the Christmas section. I found the nicest little Christmas song called 'Emmanuel'. Really a nice piece of music. Sunday we went to Church and to our amazement the music turned out fine. This was definitely one of those times when we gave it our best and the Lord made up the difference. We had lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant and Papa joined us. We had a nice visit. Monday Bonnie was able to see her oldest son be sworn in as a city comissioner.
Tuesday we headed to Nonesuch, Kentucky. On the way we stopped in Lexington to purchase glass cubes with which to make Christmas decorations. Our pre-Christmas gift to Bonne was time to shop in the antique store followed by a great lunch at the Glitz in the basement. She loved looking at all the antiques for the hour before our seating was ready. We had a wonderful meal and bought the 'refresher' drink they make out of mulled cider and cranberry juice to take home for New Year's toasts.
Then Wednesday we rested until the the kids and grandmonsters started to arrive.
