Harvest Moon...

Claude has again volunteered to be on another Board. This time it is the Board of Yuko-En. This is the Japanese Peace Garden in Georgetown, Kentucky. We are sister cities with Tahara, Japan. This beautiful site is a non-profit representing that relationship. It has a building to hold functions in, a zen garden to the left of that building, a park setting with paths, bridges, and plants to enjoy and a kiln for pottery. Many of the kids get their senior and prom pictures taken here.

Friday, September 28th, a Harvest Moon Festival was held at Yuko-En. Claude bought us tickets and we went as members of the Board. It was so nice to enjoy a cool, clear evening. We have had so much rain that seeing the sun that day was a huge lift of the spirits for everyone. We enjoyed sitting with Barbara and Judge Executive George Lusby. It was fun to chat because neither is running for office this next election so both of these good men will be out of the limelight come January 1st. A lot of the functions we have enjoyed being at with them will come to an end as they invite whomever is the new Mayor of Sadieville and the new Judge Executive for Scott County. It has been fun and I have appreciated getting to know some of the citizens that have been around for years in Scott County, Kentucky.

Here are a few pictures of our evening. Ironically, we left before we saw that Harvest Moon.
