An Added Career...

Our resident 'Gentleman Farmer, Mayor Pro-tem, Technical Writer Extraordinaire, Kentucky Colonel, attendee/participant in Chamber of Commerce, Republican Party, Bluegrass Area Development Authority, Scott County Planning & Emergency Preparation, Bluegrass Pride, etc., High Priest Group Leader'...has started added to his retirement resume.
We live in a fairly new little development. It was an old farm. The old farmhouse is one of the 15 home built thusfar. We purchased the 13th one built. There are 3 empty lots. We own one of them and maintain it. The other two are up for sale. One of these is on our side of the Eagle Bend Drive. It has not beem mowed in some time except for a bit closest to the street. In his role as City Commissioner Claude received some complaints. Tuesday, while Claude was at a meeting, Doug Smith, the developer, called to talk with Claude about these complaints and see if he knew of anyone who would cut this grass. Doug thought he had someone doing it regularly and was not aware it was not begin cut. I took Doug's number so Claude could return his call. Claude called Doug and determined that this job was up for grabs. Claude got off the phone with Doug and his brain went into overdrive. He took paper and pencil to the desk in his office and noted the cost of cutting the grass and the size of the land being cut by the Sadieville sewer plant, then he noted the cost of cutting the entry to Eagle Bend and the size of that piece of land. This gave him a feeling for the cost of the acre +/- that Doug needs cut on our street. Claude called Doug back and made an offer. Doug countered and they settle on a price in between. So now my 'Gentleman Farmer, Mayor Pro-tem, Technical Writer Extraordinaire, Kentucky Colonel, attendee/participant in Chamber of Commerce, Republican Party, Bluegrass Area Development Authority, Scott County Planning & Emergency Preparation, Bluegrass Pride, etc., High Priest Group Leader' has added Colonel Claude's Cutting Service to his resume. Gotta love his initiative!!
