It's Raining, It's Pouring...

We have had rain for a solid week. So has a lot of the rest of our nation. I just find it poetry. Why?  I'll tell you...

We have an 'early morning seminary' program at Church. Our ward (congregation) now has two classes. We have two schools that kids are going to in our county now so the class was split according to what times the kids had to be at school.

The seminary teacher for the earliest class was taking her oldest child to Idaho to start college. She needed a substitute and asked if I would be willing to teach her class for four day while she and her hubby took their daughter to college. I LOVE teaching seminary. There was no hesistation on my part.

Ali eMailed me the information I needed about times and names of students and which student did what assignment each day. I couldn't believe it...I was going to spend my week teaching Noah and the Flood and the Ark. What fun!!!

Then the rain started coming last Sunday. We had rain on Monday, Labor Day. The forecast was for rain all week.  Can you see the poetry here?  Noah and the Flood being taught during a week of rainfall. Amazing.

The last time I taught Old Testament to seminary students was in Maryland. I remember distinctly measuring out yarn and wrapping it on cardboard to take for the lesson on the ark. We were going to go outside and unwrap that yarn and see how long, wide and tall the ark was. That morning in Maryland the rain came. Now, many years later as I substitute taught it again rains as we study Noah and were going to measure the ark.

Now that is poetry!!

I also have an 'ark' cookie cutter. I took the kids 'ark' sugar cookies one morning. The class starts at 6:25 and goes until 7:15 when the next class comes in for their lesson. Those cookies were well received by kids getting used to their early morning hours for this year.

I loved being invited to teach and truly enjoyed my week with these ten stalwart youth who showed up every day and helped me to feel welcome. Thanks Ali for asking me to help.
