Sunday, after Church was over, I went into the hallway. I needed to find one of the ladies to give her something.
As I entered the hallway, Wesley Holt came up to me. He was in the seminary class I taught last week. He simply said, "We wanted you to have this Sis. Christensen." Then he handed me a little envelope. I knew immediately it was a 'thank you' card.
I could feel the tears welling in my eyes and I knew there was a suprised look on my face.
I thanked Wesley for them giving this to me and told him I would find a quiet place to read it. I thanked him again for all them being such sweet kids.
I did find a quiet place and opened this treasured card and read inside. Each of the ten youth had written a quick personal line and signed their name on that little card. I don't know when they found time to do that. But it was just very touching and delightful to receive such a lovely card.
In today's world, it is easy to get so busy that we forget the little social graces that bring such peace and contentment to life. Time when we step outside of our busy-ness to think of another and then use that time to do some little, tiny thing that will make such a huge difference. These ten youth did that for me. What icing on top of that cake of being allowed to teach them for four days. My, it just makes me happy!! Thanks kids!!
