Claude was invited, as the President of Kentucky League of Cities, to participate in the DC Fly-in. This is a delegation of KLC people flying to Washington, DC to visit with Senators and Congressman to express their concerns and desires for the cities in Kentucky. The trip was Monday, March 22nd through Wednesday, March 24th. Claude enjoyed this trip very much. They were successful in meeting with all the Kentucky Senators and Congressmen during this trip. That is phenomenal.
The first pictures are things he found interesting in his hotel room. The name of the hotel was 'The George'. We can only assume that is for George Washington. In the closet he found these robes. Hmmmm... Usually, if a hotel has robes for their guests, they are white with a logo. Claude was very amused at these not very white robes. Next was the pillow on the bed. Very military-esk. That is a new word I just invented.
I end this with a few of the places and people he visited: the Capitol, Senator Mitch McConnell, Senator Andy Barr (who was running late for their meeting and actually ran all the way to them so he could meet with them), and the Kennedy Balcony which is outside Senator McConnell's office.
Another great experience for my supposedly 'retired' hubby.
