June 29th saw lots of going and coming in our family.
Nissa arrived with Paul and Aubrey. Papa flew to Utah to visit with Junie for a week. The Marx family started their trip to Washington, DC.
The Michigan contingent including Nissa, Paul and Aubrey left real early Saturday the 29th. Aubrey really wanted to see Papa before he left. They made it here before Papa made it to Sadieville. When Papa arrived Aubrey had lots of great snuggle time with Papa. Then she rode with Claude and me as we took him to the airport.
Papa left his car at our home. This would be his last drive in that car. When he returned he would not have car insurance and not be allowed to drive again. Nothing was said and I found myself wondering if it was registering with Papa that he would never drive again. For a man who loves the driving of a road trip this would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Claude and Aubrey dropped Papa and me off at the Delta check-in and waited in the cell phone lot. Junie and Steve had arranged for Papa to have a wheel chair to get him to the gate. I helped Papa pack Friday. I checked him in on-line on Friday night. I got his luggage checked in and helped him get to the restroom before his flight. Then we went back to wait for the man to come with the wheel chair. He was a nice man from India. I was grateful for such a gentle human to help Papa with this experience. Papa is failing in so many ways. The 'deer in the headlights' look on his face when he got in that wheel chair was a little tough to take. I knew he needed the wheel chair. Papa was sure he didn't and he wasn't sure what to make of it. The gentle man took all of Papa's information and headed to security. I found places to watch as they made their way through security and then down the corridor to find his gate. I texted Junie and said it felt as hard to do this as it would be to leave a child. He was off and gone for a week visit to Junie. She and/or Steve would be at the Salt Lake Airport to pick him up.
We had a quiet evening with Nissa and kids. Claude and Aubrey headed to the basement to watch some of their favorite shows together. Paul, Nissa and I stayed upstairs to visit and Paul watched a little television also.
We received text messages from Andie and knew their trip was going well. She found some motion sickness pills for children and Hayden and Bailey were having no issues.
Sunday morning David arrived to take Aubrey to North Carolina with him for the summer. Paul and Nissa left for Michigan not long after David. Claude headed to Owingsville for Church. I headed to Georgetown. Lots of going and coming over these couple of days.
